Micanopy, the newest member of the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, FL. Micanopy is a two year old male Florida Panther rescued from the wild. He had lost much of his fear of humans wandering into a couple communities and had even taken a couple of pets. The FWC feared for his life and decided he could not be reintroduced to the wild so they decided the best solution was to place him in the Lowry Park Zoo.

Hi, my name is John Black. I grew up in west central Florida. I've been toying with amateur photography for about 15 years, but never got very serious about it until a couple of years ago when I purchased my first Nikon professional digital camera. I travel frequently in my real job, and I am never without my camera just in case I stumble on that once in a lifetime photo opportunity. My photography interests are vast, and include railroading, nature, coastal beaches, winter scenes, animals (wildlife), and much more.
