Artist's Description

This is a painting of one of the ships my father served on during WW-II. In 1942 my father commissioned the artist (unknown) to paint it. There are only three known original paintings by this artist of this ship. I inherited this one when my father passed away in 2005. I like this painting so much that I thought I would share it.

About John Black

John Black

Hi, my name is John Black. I grew up in west central Florida. I've been toying with amateur photography for about 15 years, but never got very serious about it until a couple of years ago when I purchased my first Nikon professional digital camera. I travel frequently in my real job, and I am never without my camera just in case I stumble on that once in a lifetime photo opportunity. My photography interests are vast, and include railroading, nature, coastal beaches, winter scenes, animals (wildlife), and much more. I hope you enjoy my photos, take your time viewing them and just maybe you will find something you can't do without.
